Paired Tutoring for Siblings and Friends

Two students. One tutor. One hour on Zoom. £17.50 each.

If you have two children at the same stage, or your child has a friend who needs help with the same subject, paired sessions let them learn side by side for less than the cost of two 1:1 lessons.

Explaining a method out loud is one of the quickest ways to find out whether you really understand it. In a pair, students talk problems through and catch each other's mistakes, and the tutor makes sure neither one is left behind.

How it works

- Same level, same exam board. Both students work on the same topic, so neither is waiting for the other.

- One tutor, one hour, online. Sessions run over Zoom and are planned around both students' gaps.

- Each student pays for their own place. £17.50 each per hour at KS2 to GCSE, or £27.50 each at A-level, compared with £25 and £35 for 1:1.

- Honest about fit. If the two are at different levels or on different exam boards, 1:1 usually works better, and we'll tell you so.

Who teaches it

Every tutor at Enhance Minds is a Russell Group student or graduate, and all are DBS-checked. Most of our tutors are medical students at UCL.

Before the first paired session, we check both students are at the same level and on the same exam board, so the hour works for both of them.

The details

Who it's for: Two siblings or friends at the same level and on the same exam board

Subjects: Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, from KS2 to A-level

Length: One hour, weekly

Delivered: Online, over Zoom

Price: £17.50 per student per hour (KS2 to GCSE), £27.50 per student per hour (A-level)

Payment: Monthly in advance, as with all our tuition

If one of them can't make it

Each student only ever pays for their own place. If one gives us 24 hours' notice, they aren't charged, and the other still has their session at the usual price. If one cancels with less than 24 hours' notice, only that student is charged for their place. If the pair stops working, for example because one pulls ahead, we'll move both to 1:1 with no fee.

Start with a free diagnostic session

Every new student begins with a free 30-minute diagnostic session, so both can meet the tutor before you commit to anything.

Not sure a pair is right?

If your children are at different stages, or you're not sure whether a pair or 1:1 would suit them better, book the free diagnostic session and ask. We'll give you an honest recommendation, with no pressure either way.
